How to do SPEF annotation while running ADE

  • Follow

Hi,
I need to do SPEF (o/p from qrc)annotation using ADE . Can
anyone tell me how to do it ?
inputs are gds file and some . v files . I have converted gdsII to
dfii and i do not have config view or schematic ( and i dont know how
to create it ). Please tell me which ultrasim version to use(I am
using 7.1 and 5141 icfb)

Thanks,
Sunny

Sunny,

You either need to get QRC to output an extracted view (probably the simplest
flow, because then you can use the hierarchy editor to switch from the schematic
to the extracted view), or you need to use parasitic stitching, as follows.

Go to Simulation->Options->Analog and then click on the OTHER SIMULATION OPTIONS
button at the bottom of the form.

In the Post-Layout Options section of this form, there's a line that says
"Parasitic RC Stitching" and next to that there's a Setting button.

On the form that pops up, you can specify the instance you want to stitch the
SPEF onto (make sure you set the File Type right, and enable it), and then give
the path to the SPEF file.

OK all the forms, and you're ready to go.

Using MMSIM71 should be fine.

Regards,

Andrew.
