I'm sure that this has been asked before but I'm not sure how to
handle. How do I get an imbedded BOM to call up the appropriate
configuration in an assembly drawing? The BOM insists on calling up
the properties of the default configuration for all of my different
assemblies - despite using a unique configuration in each assembly.

Check out the Config properties of the parts.

That's where you can control what shows up in the BOM.
