Just out of curiosity - What's different about the new version? I didn't
see any mention on the website, except some mention about fixing an
installation problem (and we've never had an installation problem).

BTW- We love EcoSqueeze - thanks so much for making it available.

According to the release notes, it can now suck the parasolid data out of
'04 files. Pretty cool...

Yep, EcoSqueeze has been very helpful, especially when most people have
5 meg mail box limitations.

Does this have anything to do with the data which is saved on
configurations? Will it help the fellow who had 25 or so configurations and
was trying to reduce his file size for archiving?

Actually, reading through the help notes, I guess the answer to the last
question is no, since Thilo tells us not to remove the parasolid stream on
files we want to archive.

Don't forget my Shell extension for EcoSqueeze...

You can edit these reg files, for the options you need... See EcoSqueeze
help for more about command switches

Here's the Shell Explorer extension for it.

You can modify these with notepad. Look for EcoSqueeze help for more
info on comman line switches

Jeff was faster to announce it then I was - but here is what's new:

- works now with configurations (2003 and 2004 file format)
- can remove the parasolid data
- minor bug fixes
- you can specify the location of the log file by adding a registry
value (see help file / command line switches)
- explorer shell integration selectable during setup

Not really that much new - but I hope you like it anyway.

Happy holidays

Thilo

Thanks for the Explorer extension, why did you only allow folders and not
individual file to be processed??

Well, it would require quite a bit more programming - not complicated,
it's just the way how it's currently implemented.
....and I have to leave SOMETHING to improve for the next version ;)

Merry xMas to you too Markku

These are the same as the older ones... The new version has shell
explorer integration, but it just opens up the ES to the folder you
select, and then you can make the settings etc...
