An MT-4 live center is the pointy thing that goes in the tailstock of a
lathe. The "live center" part means that the end of it rotates with the
piece that's turning. I think MT-4 means Morse Taper -4. Here's

i knew the "live" and "center" part, should have been more specific. what i
need help on was the "mk" in MK4, come to find out i thinkit is a european
thing. thanks anyway
