GhostScript+GSView+pstoedit

or...

Wintopo

Editing might be tricky with both solutions...

Couldn't you just bring it into Illustrator and Save-As dxf???
Assuming of course you have Illustrator. If not just ask.

My first question is why aren't you editing the original files instead
of saved .pdfs? Are they someone else's original drawings perhaps, or

Out of curiosity I tried the Illustrator idea, to find out whether this
editing method was possible. Illustrator does open the files, and they
do come in vector-based and editable, however the resulting exported
..dxf and .dwg files gave me mixed results (Use File, Export... not
File, Save As...BTW for saving .dwg and .dxf files from Illustrator).
I tried opening both .dwg/.dxf files saved from Illustrator in
SolidWorks 2006 first, and then in AutoCAD 2004. SolidWorks actually
opened the .dwg when AutoCAD wouldn't, however both files came in
exactly the same, with dimensions upside down and the whole drawing
even open it, but the .dxf looks pretty darn good actually, and even
has editable text. This would still be a terribly tedeious way to do
drawing editing on a large scale, but might work in a pinch if you're
desperate.

So much for .pdfs being read-only as many people believe! I suppose
there are very few (if any) digital files which are immune from
manipulation with the right tools.

DWG/DXF Export
Hello, Client has SW2006 SP 0.0 Export SW Drawing as DXF/DWG. Start DWGEditor and open just exported file. Title block appears in Model Space at 45 degree anglel with insertion point at close to the 0,0,0 point. Tried the same thing on my development laptop (SW2006 SP3.0) and file exports and imports as one expects. Is this a SP 0.0 Issue or settings issue? Don't even know where you would request the 45 degree angle. They are in middle of a project and do not want to upgrade. Is there a work-around or setting that needs work? SW2005 SP0: How do I output a (*.dwg), or (*.dxf) file?
I think I'm having a retarded moment using Solidworks 2005 SP0. I'm trying to create a set of drawings that will be importable for someone using AutoCAD 2004. I opened the Solidworks 2005 Online User's Guide (under Help tab) and under its search tab I typed "dxf" and pressed the list topics button. The fourth item down that it returned is "DXF/DWG Export" Sounds good! The instructions seem straight forward, so I open MY_Part.SLDPRT and choose 'save as type'; however, neither (*.dxf), or (*dwg) are listed among the choices. What the Hell?! Am I mis...

SW 2008
I just got a bunch of parts from a vendor scaled 1:4. I have been exporting parts like this for a long time and have never had this problem before. Here is what SW did: On the second sheet of my print I had no title block visible and the sheet scale was set to 1:1. The view the part was on was set to sheet scale. In the past this would result in a dxf/dwg file 1:1. What happened is that SW put this view into paper space in dxf/dwg and scaled it to match the other drawing sheet in the SW file. When opened in DWGEditor the part measured OK (because it was in paper space) and I had to really dig...

Recommendations for a simple 2D program to edit dxf/dwg ?
Occasionally I have to open & edit a DXF or DWG drawing sent in (in millimetres). Or I would like to edit a solidworks generated dxf/dwg drawing. I find the Solidworks drawing interface too 'clunky' and so slow for this because its more designed to detail up Solidworks views of models. I have tried Visio and Sketcher as supposedly simple 2D CAD editors but found them lacking particularly as they are set up to default to inches and importing scaling dxf/dwg in mm seems to be very complex, although editing line etc. not too bad. I used to use a brilliant program by engineered ...

Append PDF's as objects into single page PDF
Hello all, I have to dynamically build a PDF report based on different assumptions. The idea is to generate multiple PDFs through Forms (FDF) then append them into one single PDF. Which PDFs will be merged together depends on values of the first form. What I've done so far is generate all the relevant PDFs (some are just one-line text field) and append them into a single PDF using a cool little tool (pdftk <http://www.accesspdf.com/index.php?topic=pdftk>). I've found numerous tools like this one that let you append pages into the final PDF. My problem is that I'd like to ...
