SolidWorks Mastercam X Video Card Selection

  • Follow

Solidworks recommends Quadro FX....Mastercam X VAR recomends GForce 6800
or 7800 (which are game cards).

Those of you who are running MC X and SolidWorks what have been your
experiences...recommendations?

We have been using Nvidia FX540 w/Mastercam 9 and SW w/no issues, But
we are now going to start using

MC X .

I post in alt.machines.cnc, as you are aware. "I"
felt this was more applicable towards
the SolidWorks group, because this type of content that is discussed here.

Randy,
Some people that post to AMC use both (and/or similar) and some
know quite a bit about such things.

If I were you though I'd see what the *specific* vendors in
question (SW & MC in this limited case) say on THEIR Sites
and not use snything that's not common to both.

I'm not sure about Solidworks, but Mastercam X runs just fine on my Geforce
6600GT video card. ($120 at newegg.com)
