Case: Storage and clustering with shared storage [repost]
This is something I've been wondering about for some time, on the topic
of storage and clustering with shared storage. I haven't been able to
find much in documentation, or not specific to my question, so I'll
hereby be inquiring.
I have a U320 SCSI RAID disk array, offering two physical channels (as
is most common). I added an extra dual channel U320 HBA, an HP A7173A
(LSI1030) in one of my systems, so there should be four buses total
(PKA, PKB, PKC and PKD).
The way I have things, or prefer to have it, is that PKA and PKB will
be for internal disks and with PKC and PKD are av...PerfectDisk 12 Professional 188.8.131.525
Every time you use your computer, even when it's brand new, the files
on your PC or laptop will continuously become fragmented. This means
that these files are split into millions of pieces, and this occurs
even more so when you go to add, modify and delete them. So when you
go to access a file - even just to read it - it will take much longer
than necessary because Windows has to first find each piece of the
file before you can even see it. This makes using your computer, and
doing everything you want, much slower than it should be.
Fragmentation also leads to much slower boot tim...Metal Air Mini Air Compressor W / Hose

So, can you think of a way to have the contents of DRAM compressed, and
decompress them during a cache fill?
If you could get 2:1 compression on a good fraction of your accesses,
that would really help memory bandwidth. If the compression scheme is
simple enough to fit into less than a watt, you might even have a more
power-efficient way to fetch than a wider memory bus.
And if you could increase the effective size of the DRAM, ...Ape Case Hand-Held Carrying Case For PSP

My air cleaner was delivered on time by FED X. The delivery guy helped me get it into my garage shop. When I opened it up the only damage I noticed was to the top of the air handler. It looked like someone had crimped a shipping band too tightly without adequate protection under it. The damage was minor and can't be seen once the system is in place next to the ceiling. This system is heavy and awkward to handle. It will take two people to get it in place. Three would make it simpler. I used four long chains and hooks and walked it up to the 91/2 foot ceiling with some help from my wife and a step ladder. The setup directions that come with the cleaner leave a little to be desired. The cleaner has a cardboard box inside the squirrel cage blower that has to be removed. This requires taking the side panel off to get to this. It is easily taken off using the two knurled knobs on the side. The filters are easy to get to for servicing. They slide out. This system doesn't have a automatic controller. It uses an on off and speed selector found on the side of the machine. This is fine for me because I am tall and can easily reach the side controls. The sound when it is operating is similar to my home heat pump air handler.I usually wear ear protection in the shop anyway so the sound is minor. I'm very pleased with the price, capacity, and handling of the syste...Case-Insensitive Response Compression May Cause Problems With Mixed-Case Data and Non-Conforming Clients

Hello, postgresql hackers.
I am working with a client with a 20k record MySQL database (that will
shortly expand to 100k/1m) and a few thousand lines of PHP code that
does a lot of DB interaction.
Their application, with a lot of relationships between data and a bunch
of data integrity requirements is perfectly suited to postgresql.
The PHP code follows a coding standard wherein variables are assigned
CamelCase identifiers. All of the objects persist themselves to the DB,
with a variable per column; on object initialization db columns are
read from the db and added as attr...12/12 killed

that left for us to do?
I'm using the C api, I'm planning storing ~25Kb structs in there but
the final db is too large. i was thinking about reducing the struct

easier to use some kind of compression instead.

Is it possible to have more an 'else case' rather than only 'case when

Hope that makes sense if not let me know.

I'm not 100% sure I've understood the question, but I think the answer
is yes. eg:
declare global temporary table session.x (a integer, b integer) on commit preserve rows with norecovery;
insert into session.x values(1,1),(2,2),(3,3),(4,4);
select case when a=1 then 'one' when a=2 then 'two' when a=3 then 'three' else case when b<3 then 'lower' else 'higher' end end from session.x;
