V9.1: Corrupted server settings?

  • Follow

Hello,

Help! My server settings seem to be corrupt!

Environment:
Netware 5, SP 8
P.SQL V9.1

I tried to activate the debug mode from within PCC and changed the
standard trace file location. After hitting OK I wanted to verify that
my changes were accepted and opened the properties again. When I
selected Debugging I got the message "The currently displayed page
contain invalid values" and all entry fields contain only rubbish:

# of Bytes fron Data Buffer: -1780315709,
# of Bytes from Key Buffer: -1983700948,
Trace File location: a lot of special characters,
Select Operations: Only 'Abort Transaction' is listed
Buttons 'Restore Defaults' and 'Apply' are missing!

Even if I enter the original values (as far as I can recall them) I get
"An error has occured. See error log for more details" upon saving them
and the values above are there again. After searching a long time
(Which error log and where?) I found
c:\pvsw\bin\workspace\.metadata\.log with entries that matched the time
of the error messages. There are two errors repeating itself:

!MESSAGE Problems occurred when invoking code from plug-in:
"org.eclipse.core.runtime".
!STACK 0
java.lang.NullPointerException
   at ...

!MESSAGE java.lang.NullPointerException
!STACK 0
java.lang.NullPointerException
   at ...

but besides that there is an exception I don't understand what is
happening.

Is the server in trouble? What can I do? Can I manually fix the wrong
data?

Help is urgently needed
Thanks in advance

Karl

Hello,

There are lots of bugs in new PCC v/9, which is based on Java Eclipse
environment.

I suggest you contact Pervasive tech support. They are aware of many
issues,
and are helpful.

Delete the engine from the branch "Engines" in PCC and add it again.
