Cannot open or create bloody files. Plz help me or I will have to kill someone... be kind, save a life.
Windows XP
Filemaker Pro 6.0
1 Stinkin computer
The administative user account can access and create files.
The limited user accounts can do neither. When trying to open a file
xxx.fp6, it gets the message xx.gp6 could not be found and is needed
to complete this operation.
I did not install from the command line, but I did check to make sure
the pdf install file was correctly initialized. I checked all the
appropriatet boxes on the installation to allow all users to access
and create files. Nonetheless the program still only allows the
administartive account that initially created the program to access
the programs.

Maybe the files you are trying to open are not in a folder accessible by
the non-admin account?

It's nothing to do with filemaker - it's your windows account
permissions.
Try logging in as administrator, go to control panel and users.
Then check try selecting the user as a power-user rather than a
standard user.

Or, to retain the user as limited, it may work to assign the program shortcut to
run as a different user.
For any shortcut (.lnk file) in Windows XP, right click and choose "properties"
On the "Shortcut" tab, select "Advanced"
There will be a choice for "Run with different credentials" You may need to
launch it once to enter the credentials in question (I don't remember) but once
a specific (admin level) user and password has been entered, then that shortcut
will always launch the program as though it was being run from the admin user's
log in. (at least until the admin user changes their password.)
