Exporting Into Quark
Looks like the last time this was asked was 2007--does that mean this
is now a simple process?
In the interests of making it easier to export from Filemaker to
Quark, at work they are considering upgrading to the latest version of
Filemaker.
Just how easy (or not) is it to export?
I'd like to get an idea of what is involved and more importantly just
how efficient it is before we go ahead and do the upgrade.
Any insights are appreciated.
Thank you in advance.

FileMaker doesn't export to Quark Xpress (or any other layout application
format). Your best option is to export the data as plain text and then
format it in Quark Xpress.
Depending on what you're trying to do, you could "print" a FileMaker
report to PDF and then insert those PDF pages into a Quark Xpress
document, but you won't be able to edit it.
If you know the codes Quark Xpress uses (e.g. bold on, bold off, style
Heading, etc.) then you might be able to create Calculation fields that
include those tags, but it seems like a lot of effort and probably easier
to simply format it in Quark Xpress, unless you need to do this multiple
times a year or something.
There may even be a FileMaker plug-in that does it for you ...

but I haven't got time today or this weekend to look into this more fully.
I don't know if these Quark Xpress forum topics will be of any help ...
