I bought this ewcently and have spent several hours trying to get it to

work.

After speaking to tech support (Filemaker in Germany) I am no further
forward. Has anyone managed to get this to syncroize with a Pocket pc.
(Mobile 5)

Filemaker said I needed to set an account on your pocket pc???? -
Anyone know how you do this? I don't think you can!

They tried to install and sycronise at their end and could not do it,
they need to refer to tech support!!

I am using Filemaker adavanced (8)

Any other experiences?

I have FMM8 working on my Palm.
It was a pain the the rear to get setup and working, but when I got it
all done with works fine.
It is VERY limited on what you can do with it. But it works...

If your palm is wireless and you can arrange for wireless (or cellular)
access and your pockets are deep enough. A palm+citrix solution works
surprisingly well. You can effectively publish a full filemaker pro
solution right to the Palm; the screen zooming/panning allows you to
work on a full size application, although if you design filemaker
layouts with palm screen size in mind the results can be simply amazing.

Live data, Real time, Multiuser, server based Filemaker Pro on the Palm
with no compromises.

If you DIY - You are probably looking at around ~$2000/user startup cost
after you figure in the cost of the server, client device, all the
software (Microsoft Server 2003, Filemaker Pro Server, Citrix Metaframe)
and the licenses you will need. (Microsoft CAL, Microsoft TSCAL, Citrix
CAL, Filemaker Pro VLA).

And if you're using cellular for wireless access, service for each
device monthly. Not to mention possible maintenance subscriptions &
contracts on the servers.

Cost per user does drop as scale increases as you would expect.

You can cut the cost down significantly by just using Terminal Services
without Citrix, but the experience isn't quite as slick either.
