FM pro 9 Advanced

Installed application will not open in WINDOWS VISTA HOME PREM.

Generic Windows error mention pops up ..sending a error report to
Microsoft.

Anyone had a similar experience and managed to get a work around... I
deactivated UAC control in VISTA ..all that does is stop error message from
appearing but Filemaker will not open.

Thanks

1) UAC is not the issue. You can and, in my opinion, should turn it
back on. I have installed FM on many Vista units and it is compatible
with UAC. UAC, and the other security of Vista do make it considerably
more secure and malware resistant than XP.

2) Install the patches to bring it to the latest revision. I beleive
FMP 9 Advanced is up to v3 now.

3) Phone Filemaker Inc. for installation support. You are running the
current version of Filemaker on an officially supported OS.

I contacted FM ..and there is a problem caused by the AUG 12th MICROSOFT
VISTS UPDATES ... making it impossible to open FM 9 once it is installed..
several customers have reported this issue and they are working on it.

If I get an answer back from FM re this issue I'll post it here.

Al
