Has anyone else picked up that you can now select multiple values using a
popup list in FM7? I haven't seen it published here or anywhere else (could
be wrong of course) and its not exactly intuitive, so I am going to post it
To select multiple values using a popup list, hold down the command key
(Mac) while using mouse to select two or more values from the list, then hit
the Enter key. I don't have a windows box to test this on, so could someone
else test this for me?
You have always been able to select multiple values with a check box or a
popup menu, but check boxes are not an option for very long value lists (or
even moderately long value lists for that matter), and popup menus can't be
tabbed into and its hard to view the entries unless you stretch the field or
scroll through a long list of values, some selected, some not, and you can't
manually edit the values selected or copy them, plus - UGLY.
So all in all, this new feature of popup lists is quite cool, ensuring
accuracy and providing a convenient way to create multi-line keys and many
to many relationships.
