Item flash ?

  • Follow

Hi

I notice on some layout, I have item that flash when browsing records, when
switch from one record to another, SOME item will flash.

I can expect the calculation field to do so, but it's plain old textual
item. I copy them from another layout, on the original layout it's not
flashing, but on the new one, it is..... if I create a new text zone, in the
layout, it's fine, no flashing ??

I know the plain solution is to erase those text zone and fields and re-type
them as new.... but that's working for nothing, I have to replace and
reformat everything like the other layout....

Any clues why it's doing that ??

Thank you

I have seen this before. Most of the time it is just that the layout is to
cluttered and needs some time to build. The last placed objects appear last
so a short lapse is visible between first and last objects to appear.
Did you also try, copying the text inside the object. My theory (unproven)
is that when you copy a text-object complete with text in it, filemaker sees
it as an object. When you doubleclick the original object and select al text
and paste this it sees it as text. And the theory is that there might be a
difference.

Your right on some point... the pasted text maybe last thing to show because
it was last pasted on the layout and my layout is pretty full of stuff, but
only FM object, no picture or else.... I copy the text item, the copied item
do the same thing... I edit it, select all, and create a new text object and
paste.... the new one is no longuer flashing ?!?! so it's not the size of
the layout or the stuff in it that change anything..... it's juste anotrher
Window$-FM issue !!
