merge field part missing

  • Follow

Hi All,

FM7.0v2
I have a solution that is being accessed from where it resides on a mac
(OS10.3.5; file sharing on the host...) , by the secretary's mac ,
this is on the same subnet. While I am aware of the file sharing setup
issues using Server (coming soon on another solution...), this is the
first time I have a '2 user/same db' scenario. Concurrent usage is not a
requirement, and the solution lives on a dedicated user account.

I have three concatenated merge fields for an account print form. On the
local host they function normally, while on the secretarial mac, only 2
of the three merge fields display/print. The problem field when added as
a native field displays correctly. Curiously another concatenated merge
field line on the same layout works fine too.
I could create a calc field of course, but rather a retrograde approach.

I should try...?

It sounds like the non-working merge field is being pulled from a table
in another file? If so, check your relation graph to be sure the file
with the layout is seeing the related file. If not, check your field
references, and remember that FM7 assumes nothing when trying to
evaluate file locations. Perhaps the reference does not have a
'relative' path and is there fore looking at where the files would be on
the local machine if it were running on the local machine.
