Yet another stumbling block in the development process! My database is
mainly text based. There are a couple of long text fields on the
layout. Occasionally, when the fields are full, the printout will need
to spill onto a second or perhaps even a third page. I'm stumped!
So far I've tried making stretching the longest of the fields to the
page boundry and activated the "allow to run onto next page" in the
body part set up. That works, kind of. It won't work if the text gets
very long. There must be another solution. Any ideas?

It is a tricky one.. you will have to 'play' with different layout
parts. Title Header and Title footer are printed one time, and the data
you will have to stretch can be placed in the 'body' part. This way,
FileMaker won't cut a centence through half, printing the lower part on
the next page.
Also, you'll need to define the fields that are printed to "reduce size
of enclosing parts" in the sliding/printing option.
Good luck! Printing reports and invoices are a hell of a job to define
in FileMaker.
