ODBC/Oracle connection setup for Windows FM 7.0?
I'm sure I'm missing something but...
In Mac OSX, there's the "ODBC Import Drivers Installer". This gives
me an Oracle ODBC driver connection. Easily set up.
I'm not finding the analogue in the Windows version.
The on-line help says (rightly) that there are drivers are in \Program
Files\Common Files\ODBC\FIlemaker.
But I can't figure out a way to get these into the list of ODBC drivers
available in the Administrative Tools --> Data Sources (ODBC) Control
Panel.
I'm missing something obvious -- any idea what?
Thanks!

Hello Steve
I am trying to do exactly what you want, but on Mac OSX. Yes, there is
the ODBC drivers installer, but I have no idea how to make it connect to
an Oracle database on a Sun Unix server.
What I would like to do is to be able to access the data from Oracle,
and use FileMaker (or something else) to produce reports for me.
Neither the FileMaker nor the Apple support sites contain any useful
information about ODBC that I can find :-(
Could someone confirm for me that what I want to do is possible, and if
so, tell me how to set it up?
Thanks
David

To answer my own question about this (after contacting FileMaker):
Apparently, there's a registry setting that's messed that needs to be
reset for the FileMaker ODBC drivers to show up.
There's a KB article here:

That resolved the problem for me.

For us -- an YMMV -- once we installed the ODBC drivers, we ran the
"ODBC Configure" app in /Applications/DataDirect ODBC Folder
We then "add"ed a "FileMaker ODBC 4.0 Oracle Wire Protocol Driver
And configured it properly.
The "Data source name" and "Description" settings are random.
We used the "host", "port Number" and SID that were provided to us by
our Oracle database administrator here.
Then it just worked...
