Setting Zoom Level based on Resolution.
Hi,
I would like to be able to set the zoom level of my layout based on the
resolution of the computer it is being run on, would anyone have any idea
how I would go about this? I am using Filemaker Pro Advanced 8.0v2.
Thanks in Advance ,
Eric

Using the Zoom function is not a very good idea. Layouts that are use a
zoom level that is not 100% can have display problems where text
doesn't line up where it does at 100%, graphic elements can become
blocky, etc.
The best way to cater for different screen sizes is to simply have
different layouts - one for each screen size.
By the way, this is usually on a problem for Windows uers since they
seem to insist on having everything completely fill the screen. Mac
users usually seem to be used to having an application work in smaller
windows. There's the old joke about women being able to multi-taks and
men can't. There must be something similar where Windows users can only
concentrate on one thing at a time, while Mac users can multi-task with
what's on their screen. ;o)

There is an option under Edit > Preferences, labeled "Enlarge window
contents to improve readability". It's not a perfect solution, but it
may suffice depending on your layouts and user resolutions. This relies
on each user turning the option on. For a scripted possibility, you
could use the 'Set Zoom Level' script...but this is only available in
increments of 25%. No perfect solution for this.
