I have an FMP 6 solution running via FM Server 5.5. In one of the
databases, a required field is called 'Service Code'. The user selects
service codes from a pop-up-list - the pop-up-list uses a value list
consisting of codes from the 'Services' file.
As of this morning, when a user tries to create a new record (or edit an
existing record), and enters a code using the list, the message "This field
is defined to contain only specific values. You must enter a valid value."
pops up. The validation on the service code field is that it must not be
empty, and that the value must be in the 'Services' value list (which is
derived using the Services database.) The value they're entering is valid
but for some strange reason the valication is failing.
This solution has been running just fine for 14 months - all that has
changed is that on Friday night the network guys shut down the box that FM
Server runs on to replace a tape drive - the problem started Monday
morning. Seems suspicious to me... Anyway, could it be that one of the
files became corrupted during the shutdown? If so, what is the best way to
recify this. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Chris
