1 - 1, 1 -1, 1-1, 1
Hi, I have a question regarding lexical analysis. I recently came across a bug in our lexical analyser in phc (www.phpcompiler.org), that I am unsure how to solve. This is the problem: our current definition for integer constant looks something like INT ([1-9][0-9]*)|0 In particular, note that it does not allow for an (optional) "+" or "-" at the start of the integer. This means that the strings "1 - 1", "1 -1" and "1-1" all generate the same sequence of three tokens INT(1), OP(-), INT(1), for which the syntax analyser generates the subtr...

C++ Java interoperability while migrating from from JDK 1.2 to JDK 1.3.1
Hi All, I have a serious issue migrating from JDK 1.2.2 to JDK 1.3.1 . We have a Forte 7.0 C++ client talking to JDK 1.2.2 server sitting on Orbix 3.3.7. When I use JDK 1.3.1 the C++ client dies saying 12003 12000 Unknown Error. The call that fails take two parameters string and long. I tried debugging the Server side code , but what i found is the control does not enter the skeleton, even the "invoke" method was not called. I tried moving to iiop version 1.1 , but even that didn't work :-( Currently I am compiling the sever side code with jdk1.3.1 , but JRE i...

C.7.6.3.1.4 Pixel Data and C.7.6.2.1.1 Image Position And Image Orientation
Dear All, How should I reconcile the definitions of image coordinates in the "Pixel Data" and "Image Position and Image Orientation" sections of the 2009 DICOM standard? "Pixel Data" says that the pixels are labelled: (1,1) (1,2) (1,3) (1,4) etc. (2,1) (2,2) (2,3) (2,4) etc. etc. i.e. (row starting at 1, column starting at 1) But the formula on the "Image Position And Image Orientation" section it say is said to determine "The mapping of pixel location (i, j)" but WHERE i Column index to the image plane. The first column is index zero. and j Row index to the image plane. The first row index is zero. Should the image data be considered to be indexed from 0 or from 1? Should the pixel coordinates (i,j) be (row, col) or (col, row)? Many thanks, Dr Chris Rodgers University of Oxford. -- QUOTE from the standard -- ftp://medical.nema.org/medical/dicom/2009/09_03pu3.pdf C.7.6.3.1.4 Pixel Data Pixel Data (7FE0,0010) for this image. The order of pixels sent for each image plane is left to right, top to bottom, i.e., the upper left pixel (labeled 1,1) is sent first followed by the remainder of row 1, followed by the first pixel of row 2 (labeled 2,1) then the remainder of row 2 and so on. OO 1.1 and java 1.3.1
Am attempting to install OO 1.1, but with just Java 1.3.1, and the install documentation says that without at least 1.4.1, I cannot make use of full capabilties. I infer from this that I should be able to OO crippled. However, However, OO does not like it when I point to my 131 JRE. Comments? -- Sir: David I. Serialization between Java 1.1.4 and Java 1.4.1
Hello, It seems to me to be in some kinda trouble. I wanted to implement communication between Java applet and Server through sockets and Serialization. So, I serialize Object, send it to server which deserialize it with no problems. In other direction problems came out since Object serialized under Java 1.4.1 seems to be not deserializable under Java 1.1.4. (MS VM). If applet si run under J2, there are no problems, but I cannot push people to download some 15MB of new JRE just to accomplish my requirements, especially if applet needs not implementation of features of new JRE... ...

Java 1.1 vs 1.2 Printing
Hi all, I have a problem. I am working with some GIS software that prints maps. It was originally designed using the Java 1.1 API and is still compiled today using the Java 1.1 compiler. If we run the program in a Java 1.1.x Runtime Environment (IE, Netscape), and print out a map, it gets printed out perfectly. If we run the program in a Java 2 Runtime Environment (Sun plugin), and print out a map, the page origin seems to get shifted to the top and to the left. This leads to the left edge of the map getting cut off. No change in code, just the environment it's being run in. Any ideas?...

Problems with Fonts porting app from Java 1.1 to Java 1.2+
Hi Folks, I have some promblems with the "Serif"-Fonts when I'm trying to run my application under Java 1.2 (or higher) on some machines (strangely it doesn't occur on every machine with 1.2+). The Problem is that the Serif-Fonts I use in the application are instanciated well if they are plain but don't work if I instanciate them bold or italic. The Font-Files in font.properties regarding the bold and italic Fonts for "Serif" are setted well and exist. Does anybody have a hint what's needed (possibly I forgot a special setup) to gain access for these Fonts? ...
