There could be couple of reasons for this error message :

1. Your INFORMIXDIR environment variable is not pointing to the correct
location.

2. If you have multiple CSDKs installed in one Windows box then you might
want to check that the one which you want
is listed first in the PATH environment variable traversing from left
to right ( for example : set
PATH=%Informixdir_I_want%\bin;%etc_etc%;%PATH%).

3. Your Client and DB locales are not matching as per the conversions
supported parameters.

Mi ambiente

      IDS 7.30.UC2
      SCO Unix 5.0.4
      WIN 98se
      Informix cliente-SDK 2.81

Sera:
Environment el Cliente Locale
                  Data base Locale ???

Gracias de antemano
Luis Camacho.

Informix databases can be created with support for transactions - not recommended, but possible. It appears that your database is one such - so any operations that use transactions are going to fail like that. Fix - don't use transactions in C#, or add transactions to the database. For the latter, read the manuals (ontape, onbar). -- Jonathan Leffler #include <disclaimer.h> Email: jleffler@earthlink.net, jleffler@us.ibm.com Guardian of DBD::Informix v2005.02 -- http://dbi.perl.org/ ...

RE: [Informix][Informix ODBC Driver] Database locale information mismatch
You could try issuing the following statement and see what the engine is configured for. onstat -g env This will give you the environment of the engine. I believe it is listed there what the locale is set to. [Informix][Informix ODBC Driver] Database locale information mismatch

Can somebody help. XP client and Linux server This is a multipart message in MIME format. --=_alternative 0046812965257177_= Content-Type: text/plain; charset="US-ASCII" I am guessing that you are using 10.00.xC4 or the version where you have fix for 171156 IDS defect. Basically this bug fix will enforce the correct database locale setting from client (i.e. ODBC etc). If you supply the (default is en_US.1252) correct database locale(that is actually the database created with) in ODBC DSN(or your connection string) then your connection should go through. However in ODBC side as well we have the corresponding fix in place. Ask your customer support to get the patch of ODBC defects 175110 and 175746. These ODBC fixes will automatically take care of getting the correct database locale value for the given database (through DSN). Anyone know why. Yes, LOAD & UNLOAD are not SQL commands. They are built-in commands for tools like dbaccess, but not part of the SQL language. How to copy a sun-database in one informix database to another informix database?
Hi, Sorry I am not an informix dba, and I was faced to copy a sub-database(sorry I don't know the clear name of such concept, as informix is like sql-server, which used multiple database) from one informix database system to another informix database. I know in oracle, we can use transportable tablespace, copy the datafile and transport the metadata, and do something else. How can I do it in informix then? Is there document which talk about the detail step? Thanks It would really help if you knew the versions of the Informix databases. Assuming Informix IDS 7.x or IDS 9.x If the two systems are binary compatible the fastest method is to use onunload/onload. If the systems are not binary compatible the easiest way is to use dbexport/dbimport. Everything is well documented in the manual "IBM Informix Migration Guide". This manual covers all Informix databases from Standard Engine and Online to IDS and XPS. Error executing remote system command on an AIX Informix database from an NT Informix Server
Dear All, I realise there are many queries and answers already posted on a similar topic, but none seem to be able to get this working. I have two informix servers, one on Windows NT and one on AIX 4.3. Informix NT (7.31) Informix AIX (7.xx) I have a stored procedure on the unix box with a system command SYSTEM '/usr/bin/ksh /usr/bin/env > /tmp/mylog' I have set up the trust, so that I can connect to the AIX instance as informix from the NT server. I connect from the NT server to the AIX instance as informix and execute the procedure. I get the following error - 668 Command cannot be executed 127 No Primary Key I think that the 127 error number is from the shell execution. The /tmp/mylog file is created but with no values. Even if I replace it with an echo hello command I get an empty file. Having read one of Jonathan Leffler's responses, the SHELL environment variables needs to be set to the the Shell of the remote system. In my case that is 'set SHELL=/usr/bin/ksh' . I did this and it still didn't work. Am I missing further environment variables as I am executing the procedure from NT. Has anyone managed to do this? Many thanks in advance, Nick Have you tryed it on aix itself?? does that work?? try: SYSTEM "(/usr/bin/ksh /usr/bin/env 2>&1) > /tmp/nonexistingfile"; -- check what is in nonexistingfile or SYSTEM "(/usr/bin/ksh ...

IBM Informix Database Driver for Perl DBI Version 2005.01 (2005-03-14) has been uploaded to CPAN. IBM Informix Database Driver for Perl (also known as DBD::Informix) is the driver code that enables Perl 5.6.1 or later to access Informix databases via the DBI module (but if you are not already using Perl 5.8.5, you should be planning to upgrade to it). Recently it crashed when I ran update statistics with PDQ anabled mode.(During this process it was dynamically allocating memory and it crashed when it tries to go beyond 1896MB). The server got 4GB physical memory running on LINUX 2.4.9-e.3smp kernal on a DELL POWEREDGE 6650 machine with 4 Pentium ZEON processors. We started to experience issues when we tried to allocate more memory to Informix after some upgrades on our 4GL programs. We have been using 750MB for informix for quite a sometime and there were no issues until end of June. (We had 2GB RAM at that time.) Then we increased the shared memory beyond 750MB.If I leave the server to run more than 24 hours the whole server freezes. We can see through cat /proc/meminfo that its "LOW FREE" memory is going down an...

Re: Difference between Informix connect and Informix Client SDK
Informix-connect holds the runtime libraries which will allow you to connect to the database ..so if you have ESQL/C binaries, you can just put Informix-connect on the server and run the binaries. But, if you want to build the binary then you will have to use CSDK ... As for pricing, I think both are free and can be downloaded from the IBM site. You'd need to look at the sysmaster database, which has all that info in pseudo tables that you can access using SQL. Alternatively, you can use the command line utility onstat. However, this is all 'live' data that disappears once the session is terminated. In that case, you might find some detail in the message log, but not much. If you are tracking a particular issue, then you may need to maintain your own 'log' my periodically extracting data using sysmaster or onstat.
