dragging existing controls onto a new 'tab control'

I have an form that I want to reorganise by putting some of the
existing controls onto a new tab control (using Access 2K)

When I drag a control onto a specific page of the new tab control,
rather than appearing just on that page, the control appears on all
pages of the tab control.

Can anyone tell me how to make it visible just on the page on to which
it is dragged?

Thanks

Damian.

Go to design view, select the tab control and make the background property
'Normal' rather than 'Transparent'. You can then drop controls on any page and
they will only be on that page. After installing the controls, you can change it
back to Transparent if that is what you want.

Controlling the 'On change' event for a numeric control.
Hi, I would like to be able to compare a control's new value with its old value, whenever it is changed by a user. The control holds a numeric value, qty_Sold, when this value changes I need to check its validity and apply appropriate actions. I have tried to do this using the control's 'On Change' event, and the properties '.Value' and '.Text' to return the control's old and new values. Unfortunately this event triggers on each character entered. i.e. to change an old value of 1 to a new value 234 would trigger the code behind the event three times: changing the “1” to a “2” - code triggered; user must now re-enter control, position cursor to right of the “2” and enter “3” - this triggers code; user must now re-enter control, position cursor to right of the “3” and enter “4” - this triggers code, for the final (and only required) time. Clearly this isn't acceptable to the user, so how do I achieve the required comparison only when the user has completed their change? I don't know if this effects anything, but the control is in a datasheet sub- form. A newbie question to you; what is the difference between statements like: if x is not None: and if x != None: Without any context, which one should be preferred? IMHO, the latter is more readable. Controlling the text in plot 'xyz' title 'text'
Hi Can somebody help me out? I want to change the text fonts which appear in keys for every line, in command: plot "file" title "xyz" How to use desired font size for xyz above? Thanks -- Your's truly Masroor Bangesh help title: gnuplot> help title The `set title` command produces a plot title that is centered at the top of the plot. `set title` is a special case of `set label`. Syntax: set title {"<title-text>"} {offset <offset>} {"<font>{,<size>}"} {{textcolor | tc} {lt <line_type> | default}} {{no}enhanced} show title If <offset> is specified the title is moved by the given offset where <offset> is specified by either x,y or x,y,z, and may be preceded by `first`, `second`, `graph`, `screen`, or `character` to select the coordinate system. See `coordinates` for details. By default, the `character` coordinate system is used. For example, "`set title 0,-1`" will change only the y offset of the title, moving the title down by roughly the height of one character. <font> is used to specify the font with which the title is to be written; the units of the font <size> depend upon which terminal is used. `textcolor lt <n>` sets the text color to that of line type <n>. `noenhanced` requests that the title not be processed by the enhanced text mode parser, even if...

"Method 'Controls' of ojbect 'CommandBarPopup' failed" ?
I get this error every so often. Some bogus error number (such as -2147467259), too. Google searches imply that it can be caused by manually adding/deleting menu items on the fly, but it happens to me when a modal form is active and a timer function fires. Some of the code it runs (not sure what exactly) breaks it. Part of the menus are then hosed (i.e., you click and it doesn't "drop down", even if there are items in there). 'Tab Control' (TabCtl), subforms; performance question
Hello, If I have a form containing a Tab Control with N pages, each page containing a subform, are those subforms loaded into memory when another page has the focus? I have tried iterating through the AllForms collection, but it only shows the parent form as being loaded. I have a project with a large number of single forms that I would like to group together under one or a few parent forms, using Tab Controls to accomplish this; however, my users are in a shared-resource environment (Citrix) with limited resources, and if all subforms in all pages are loaded at all times, I would probably need to keep the page count for each parent form to a minimum. If anyone has any comments ofradvice, I would very much appreciate hearing them. '''''''''''''The Running Update/Append Queries Using VBA code Ordeal''''''''''''''
Hello fellow programmers, I am trying to run an append/update query from code, a command button on a form initiates the queries. the format i am using is; _____________________________________________________ SELECT "criteria" FROM "criteria" WHERE "criteria" UPDATE/APPEND "field selections" RecordSource "qryExample" = above text strings" _______________________________________________________________________ When i am running a SELECT query in this manner it works fine with no problems, and accepts the values of specified linked form fields. This never works when doing an APPEND/UPDATE query. It can never find the values of linked form fields, Access always asks for the parameter value of the field(s) in question, or Access comes up with an error 3323 - No recordset. I am sure there are other people that have had this problem. What is the difference between Select queries and append/update queries? the append/update queries never seem to be able to find values in linked form fields. Can anyone shed any light on this or point to a knowledgebase Item, or even recommend a book focusing on this subject, I will go and buy it now. How to corrupt a MS Access database file in a 'normal' way?
Here is the situation: I wrote a VB programm, which stores all the information in a single Access database file using jet engine. It worked well, however one of my customs reported that there was some problems with this programm. I checked, the log files showed that the database was corrupted. The customer told me that there no 'illegal' operation such as pull out the plug, or kill the programm via task manager... So is there any possible normal operation which could corrupt the database? such as 'Weird characters' I guess? (The custom is from Italy, is there any special Italian chars could do this?) Of course it is possible that there are some bugs in the programm, which possibly caused a error may corrupt the database file, but still, how? The program wasn't stopped violently anyway ... Anyone could give some idea about this? Since it is rather hard to talk to Italians... So I can not completely investigate 'what they did about the program'... I have to check the program and potential operations which may corrupt the database. 'Adding new data file' vs 'extending existing data file size' to increase Tablespace
As the Tablespace is almost filled on the running system now, we have to add additional space to the Tablespace. As I understand, the following are the two options available to do that: 1) Add a new data file to hold the additional data in Tablespace: SQL> alter tablespace my_TS add datafile '/someDir/my_TS2.dbf' size 100M; 2) Resize the existing Tablespace's data file. SQL> alter database datafile '/someDir/my_TS1.dbf' resize 200M; What is the best way to go? In my understanding, the 1st option is not preferable as the Tablespace is spread over 2 data files and hence, performance may get impacted slightly. Hence, I would prefer to go for the 2nd option. Kindly give your opinion on it!
