I'm building a small web application for a friend using PHP. He'd like to
use MS Access to keep the data in, and update the data on the site by FTP'ing
Access files he edits on his machine up to the web host.
The web host is unix-based (FreeBSD, slightly hacked by Verio, I believe), so
this means COM functions aren't available. ODBC was my next thought, but I've
never used it, and there are a few things I don't understand. Setting up a
DSN is one of them -- apparently this isn't as simple as constructing a string,
and all the tutorials I can find seem to involve ...Accessing MS ACCESS database using Data Environment
I have developped a program in Visual Basic 6.0 using MS Access database.
I have created all my reports through Data Environment where I have
entered the location of my database file (for e.g c:\project\app\test.mdb)
in the Connection properties.
I have installed my application on another PC using Package & Deployment
When viewing the reports on the other PC, I have to enter everytime the
new location of the database.
How can I solve this problem, please?

I know this question has been answered:
but I still have doubts. Consider the following code:
def __init__(self, a):
self._a = a
#def __eq__(self, other):
# return self._a != other._a

obj_1 = A(1)
obj_2 = A(2)
obj = obj_1

What am I doing wrong? I read this in the manual:
plot 'file' using 1:($2+$3) "%1f,%1f,%1f"
which led me to use the above. I assume the format stuff
is not needed.
If I am doing this wrong, how do I modify a given column
to be plotted arithmetically?

You´ve set an xrange that ends between one and two.

Is there a reason you need to use a BAT file? You should be able to just
use the command line that will directly open the MDB file. Below is an
example of a command that I execute in the scheduler every day.
"C:\Program Files\access97\Microsoft Office\Office\MSACCESS.EXE"
"C:\Documents and Settings\rbrandt\Desktop\SiceSerNumFix.mdb"

I am relatively new to using IDL with very little knowledge of in-depth
computer stuff (compilers/linkers/etc.). I am trying to access a
database using DLM's written by someone else (in C). I have spent way
too long trying to solve the problem by downloading different
compilers, looking into different linking issues and I still haven't
accomplished much. My major issue is trying to get IDL to load the DLM
and use it. I have added a IDL_DLM_PATH to my environment variables so
that when I type "help, /dlm" at the command line it shows that my DLM
is there. I then...Using mex-files to use and close data files

I have 2 problems:
1. I want to import a single text file into an access table using a
Macro. I am however getting an error that I need to put a
specification name argument. What does this mean? It also suggests
that I add a schema.ini in the source folder. What does this .ini do
and how do I create and use it?
2. After this is resolved, I would like to be able to import several
text files using a macro into the same table.
I'm sure others will be able to shed more light on this:
To create an import/export specification, launch the Import Wizard:
File | Get External Data | Import...
Point to the desired txt file
Select the "Advanced..." button
Specify the field delimiter, the text qualifier (you might want to
select "" in case some of your incoming text fields have punctuations,
etc.), and the field names and data types, etc.
Then select "Save As" and give that set of specifications a name.
You can now use this set of import/export specifications in a macro or
in a VBA module.
To see these specs as they are saved in the mdb file, select Tools |
Options | View, and check System Objects. You'll now see the tables,
MSysIMEXSpecs and MSysIMEXColumns.
PS you might want to "unshow" these system objects once you've looked at
them so you don't accidentally hose them...

written to the DB. I can't get that to work with LabVIEW.
