Missing Working directory I:\

  • Follow

Dear reader,

When I opening a mdb the following message pops up.

"Microsoft Office Access can't change the working directory to I:\"

Under Tools | Options | Tab General

There is a field: Default database folder: I:\

I can't change this default location and I do not know the added value of
this information.

What is MS Access doing with this location and what is happening if this
location is missing?

Thanks for any help.

Kind regards,

Simon

The problem is I can change the default database folder to any location I
prefer.

But after closing en opening the mdb the field Default database folder is
showing " I:\"

again.

It may be that some code is changing it to "I:\" use ALT F11 to get
into the code modules and search for "I:\", then if found you'll need
to establish why!

Having said that, if this is happening with all databases then it must
be something to do with your profile and that's a windows thing....
