According to metalink Note:401436.1, last updated 22-Oct-2007,
"10.2.0.4 has not been released on any platform , and does not have
release dates available."

If anyone has anything better, let us know.

http://oracleappstechnology.blogspot.com/2007/10/oracle-rdbms-10204-patchset-expected-to.html
isn't really better.

I was looking for the 10.2.0.3 patchset for Agent and found the 10.2.0.4
patchset for the Linux platform. I know this isn't the Database patchset
the OP is probably looking for, but it does show that things are
starting to come out...if only slowly.

Thanks,

No one knows. When, or if.

Why do people ask these questions?

No one outside of Oracle can answer them.
And no one inside of Oracle will have a job if they do.

No different from any other software company on the planet I might add.

Another good question might be how soon after 10.2.0.4 will 10.2.0.5
be?

How many platforms will have to wait long period of time after
10.2.0.4 is supplied to others?

I don't think 10.2.0.3.0 is out for x86 - Solaris yet. So some OS's
have a long wait.

10.2.0.3 was very slow arriving for Solaris 10 x86 but it has been out
for a while. 64 bit only there isn't ( as far as I know ) a 10.2 port
for Solaris 10 x86 32 bit.

Oracle has "promised" that the 10.2.0.4 for Solaris 10 x86-64 will not
be so far behind the 10.2.0.4 patchsets on the other platforms. Time
will tell I guess.

Looks like oracle is hedging 10.2.0.4 as sometime in FY2008 so that
could be a very long time out. At least 10.2.0.3 is solid as a rock
( kidding ).

Copying Oracle 10.2.0.4 Database to 11.2
Hi, We have an SAP system (ECC6.0) running on Oracle 10.2.0.4 on Solaris 5.9 in, say, servera. We are looking to copy it, and rename its Oracle SID, to a Solaris 5.10 server (serverb) running Oracle 11.2. The tentative plan is as follows: (i) Install SAP/Oracle 11.2 on serverb. (iv) Run the SAP tool that upgrades Oracle to 11.2 so that the database is upgraded (Skip the part that install the Oracle binaries). SAP documentation indicates that this step works. New Option Packs after Update from 10.2.0.1 to 10.2.0.2 ???

Compatibility between Forms 6.0.8, client 8.0.6 and Server 10.2.0.2?
I'm using Server side: Oracle server 10.2.0.2 (Windows Server 2003) Client side (Windows XP SP2): Net 8 client: 8.0.6.3.2c SQL Plus: 8.0.6.0.0 Application: Forms Runtime: 6.0.8.25.0 Reports Runtime: 6.0.8.25.0 Graphics Runtime: 6.0.8.17.1 Will my client 8.0.6 work properly with 10.2.0.2 server? I tried it, and it seems to work fine, but I'm afraid of some compatibility problems that might come up. It should go in the production in the next 2-3 days, so I don't have enough time for testing. Can I use newer version of client to work with Forms 6i? If so, witch one? I've tried 10.2 client and my Runtimes didn't want to connect to the Server. Tnx for help I know the server based version of Oracle Forms 6i when fully patched is certified to work with version 10gR1. Being the product is obsolete it will never be certified to work with version 10gR2. We run server based Forms 6i and plan to attempt to upgrade to 10gR2, We managed to recompile and link all our Forms, Report Writer, and Pro*c programs against 10.1.0.4 but we have not really tested them. Right now we are in a wait state due to resources, but once we get the time we plan to upgrade our 10gR1 test system to 10gR2 and give everything a go. Please post back with any incompatibilities you encounter or useful information you run accross. HTH -- Mark D Powell -- ...

Install problems with Oracle installer 2.2 for Oracle 9i Client 9.2.0.1.0
Please forgive me if I am posting this in the wrong forum - I am an Oracle Newbie. Here are my computer specs : Windows 2003 - fully patch from Microsoft as of Sept 4th 2004 HP LP2000r 1 x 1,1 Gig Intel processor 1 GB RAM Hardware RAID 1, 12 GB with 8 GB freespace Clean install, no other programs. At first I tried running the Oracle installer program from the CD ROM and came up with the error that it could not find the javaw.exe program. I then tried installing and reinstalling several versions of java to no avail. Next I searched through groups.google and found the solution: 1. Copy the Oracle CD to the hard drive. I copied it to a subfolder directly to C:\Oracle9i 2. Change the file c:\oracle9i\install\ORAPARAM.INI to reflect the actual name of the directories listed in the install directories of the cd I just copied. I did this and next took out some "."s and put the absolute path to the java program and something called the "OUI_LOCATION". JRE_LOCATION=C:/oracle9i/stage/Components/oracleswdjre/13110a/1/DataFiles/Expanded OUI_LOCATION=C:/oracle9i/stage/Components/oracleswdoui/220120/1/DataFiles/Expanded Okay so good so far. This time the installer actually started. The problem occurs in the next few steps, when I click "next" (weiter in German) from the welcome screen- please understand if I translate something wrong here. Then I am shown the installation directory screen, where I select the default listed: Source : C:\Oracle...

OpenVMS and Oracle 10.2.0.4.0
I've been told by Oracle that the terminal release patchset 10.2.0.4.0 will be available by the end of October AND that the Itanium 10.2 Grid Control agent will be available in the next couple of weeks. Can anyone confirm I'm not being spun the typical Oracle VMS yarn. I've had these messages in the past but nothing ever emerges. 9.2.0.6 upgrade to 10.2.0.2
Hey all, I'm upgrading an instance from 9.2.0.6 to 10.2.0.2. I have a question about the critical patch updates. While preparing the 10.2.0.2 Oracle Home can I install the CPU patch before I run dbua? If so, do I still need to run catpatch after the upgrade? Or should you wait until after the database has been upgraded? tnx. On Apr 1, 1:18 pm, "Dave" <david.b...@gmail.com> wrote: > Hey all, > > I'm upgrading an instance from 9.2.0.6 to 10.2.0.2.
