Broadband and Cisco intranet
Hi all, I have a cisco network at home and want to set it up so I can
connect my broadband modem to it and then use the cisco gear as a sort of an
inside wan. Thing is, I dont know for sure if I can get one of the ethernet
ports to auto sense the IP or what ever to allow this?
Any indformation on how to connect the equipment would be handy
I have
2610 x 1
2503 x 2
2950 x 1
isdn simulator x 1
thanks for any information and advice
Gordon

According to some research I did a while ago, the 2950 can be a DHCP
client, at least in more recent releases (roughly last 1 year.) I
suspect also that the 2610 can be; I'm not sure about the others.
If you have CCO access http://www.cisco.com/go/fn

I`ve looked on there but the thing is that the DHCP is to dynamically assign
IPs to the devices attached. I`m looking to get the router or switch to get
the ip assigned by the modem because the modem is also a DHCP serve
I don't know how this would be done so I guess I`ll keep looking or speak to
someone I work with in the network dept.
Thanks
