Logging Link Status (4506) To Console
I would like to see up/down notfication on the console for ports.
However, it seems the 4506 ships by default with this off. I have
been unable to find the command to turn this on.
I have tried
logging event link-status
However, it seems this command does not exist.
Any thoughts
Thanks
Amy.

Are you running IOS or CatOS?
For IOS try
logging console notifications
For CatOS try
set logging console enable
set logging level pagp 5
Good Luck,

Jeff,
We are using IOS. The "logging console notifications" does not seem
to turn on the link status notifications.

Hey Amy,
It looks like the command "logging event link-status" is an interface level
configuration command. I was hoping that it was a global configuration but
I guess that is only for CatOS based switches. I can't seem to find
anything else for the 4500 and although I have one on our network it's not
close enough to connect to the console and play with.
Good Luck,
