### Cepstrum question

```Some questions about cepstrum are here.
Let us take a example to illustrate it.
Suppose a speech signal x(n) with length 256, n = 0--255, with fs =
8000, thus the sampling period is 1/fs = 0.0125s.
Let's take FFT tranform with 1024 length, result a symmtrical
spectrum ,also in 1024 length.Then take absolute value and log
computation, get 1024 length sqrt power spectrum in log domain.
Finally taking IFFT transform, result 1024 points symmtrical  cepstrum
c(m), m =0-1023.
1. c(m) must be a even-symmetrical vector,with a length of 1024.  The
independent variable m, which is called quefrency, is in time
sense.Then how to correspond the quefrency with the real time scale?
That is to say, how much is the sampling period of c(m)?
2.Where is the beginning of c(m)? That is to say,which point is its
real head? m = 0, or m = 1024/2 = 512?
Much to my surprised, why not a little response for such two ordinary
cepstrum questions?
Are they not clear or illogical?
Puzzled!
QUESTION
What is python 2.1.1? How did it get on my computer? Is it a necessary program? Can I safely delete it/remove it? If so how? I do not recall downloading it. Does it come bundled with some other program? Maybe one of my kids did it. I do not see enough information on your site to make these determinations. I have a Compaq 5184 with OEM Win 98 installed...I do not ever recall seeing "python" in the programs. I have been having alot of problems with my computer lately and I am removing unecessary "junk" Thanks, Matt Python is a popular programming language. Th
Waitbar question
Waitbar will usually be used in a for loop. I use it in 6 functions. Now i have a global variable for the waitbar and in each function i will define the actual progress. e.g. waitbar(35/100,h). Ist it possible to define the actual progress through matlab? Because matlab should no in which line of the code it is and so i could receive a realistic progressbar. Question on creep
I am design a book that is 8 x 10 in and will be perfect bound. How much creep do I need to leave on inside pages or will printer do this for me? The book is about 72 pages in length. The book is about 72 pages in length. The answer depends on the thickness of the paper. However, you should not be doing this; the printer (person, not machine) should be doing this as part of the imposition. (Imp
Polymoprhism question
I'm trying to figure out (or find an example) of polymorphism whereby I pas= s a commandline argument (a string) which comports to a class (in java, you= would say that it comports to a given interface bu I don't know if there i= s such a thing in Python) then that class of that name, somehow gets intant= iated from that string. This way, I can have similar classes, but have my p= rogram use various ones by simply changing the commandline argument. Can anyone show me how this might be done in Python? RMAN question
Hi, We're running Oracle 10g R2. I'm restoring a copy of the database onto a different server. Our retention period is 21 days, with an Incremental Level 0 each Sunday. For this restore, I really only need to start with the last Incremental Level 0, as that is a backup of the entire database. But when we performed the restore, it seemed to start with the beginning of retention period, hence 21 days ago. This is not needed, we really need just from the last Incremental Level 0. How can I tell RMAN which Level 0 to access. We are using a control file rather than a
autoconf question
I am wondering how I can "program" a Makefile. I am hoping someone has encountered this before and could shed some insight or refer me to a resource. Nonetheless, I am asking two questions. I would like to assert that the user has the libcrypto.so object. My second question is, as programs grow in complexity and require many of these shared objects, what
