### DCT-lms

```Hi all,
Is there a best way for eigenvalue estimation in speech case for DCT-lms?
I test my algorithm with power normalization as proposed by Farhang, Ali H
Sayed and Haykin, my convergence still under the NLMS one and when I
increase the number of taps(500 taps) it become difficult to converge.
Is DCT-lms useful for AEC.
LMS convergence
I built an LMS filter, and I have better convergence when I use an alternate signal as input, than a DC(all x(n)>0) one. Did someone have an explanation about it? thanks On Nov 29, 2:00=A0am, "mmoctar" <mmoc...@gmail.com> wrote: > I built an LMS filter, and I have better convergence when I use an > alternate signal as input, than a DC(all x(n)>0) one. You could use a square wave and it would work when it changes. A DC signal has a fourier transform of an impulse at the 0 frequency. When this signal is passed through the channel, it can tell receiver what channel did to the DC component only and not all the frequency
ciscoworks lms vs snms
Greetings: I am looking at purchasing cisco works lms version 2.2. I have seen a version of cisco works called snms but it seems to be limited to 20 devices. Does anyone use the snms version or the lms version and can tell me which one is better? I have also been told the lms product requires much more training. If this is correct is the lms version worth the extra purchase cost and the extra training? Thanks Jim -- Jim, I work with all the software apps. If you can tell me what you are looking to do with it..... I'll tell you what one to get. Can't really recomend one without knowing what your looking for. Also, SNMS and LMS are no where near being the same software, it's not just a 20 device difference, they both contain very different apps. They have a couple commonalities, but thats about it. -Brian "Jim Chivas" <chivas@sfu.ca> wrote in message news:br2d7m\$3t0\$1@morgoth.sfu.ca... > Greetings: > > I am looking at purchasing cisco works lms version 2.2. X-filtered LMS algorithm
Hi! I'm using adaptfilt.filtxlms function (Filter Design Toolbox in Matlab) in a system with active noise control. My question is if any of you have a good idea how to choose the mu constant wich is an input parameter in this function? All I know is that it should somehow be related to the energy in the reference signal (the X-signal). Sorry if this forum is not the right place to post. regards -- Sverre P Thu, 28 Oct 2004 01:01:07 +0200, skrev Sverre Hestetun <hestetun@stud.ntnu.no>: > Hi! > > I'm using adaptfilt.filtxlms function (Filter Design Toolbox
elementary question on LMS
Hello! I'm trying to implement the LMS algortihm. I have ISI and gaussian noise. What is the desired sequence and how can I compute it? I tried the following: y=sign(randn(1,M)); %input H %conv. matrix from impluse response h nu=normrnd(0,(1/sqrt(snr)),1,M); % noise x=H*y'+nu'; %received signal W : conv matrix generated from the initial filter coefficients d=W*x % IS THIS THE DESIRED SEQUENCE? I tried this but when tried using the LMS algorithm from the Proakis Digital Signal Processing with Matlab book I got terrible values for BER.. Tom Dear Bill, I refer you to a link on my home page, that has an example of the LMS algorithm. <http://freespace.virgin.net/sanjeev.sarpal/adaptive%20filter.htm> good luck. Sanjeev.
