help for concurrent proccessing !?

Hi all,
    I am working on TI DSP54x for video processing ,
I just finish the sequential process flow . It's work well , but very slow !
I know 54x could act different asic at the same time to improve process
speed, like iMX Vlcd etc
but i have no idea how to start it.
For example , in jpeg each frame could to view as many mcu. but each mcu
need use Vlcd once , than iMX will run for FFT and other works .
When imx working , how to control Vlcd excute on next mcu to  avoid memory
conflict  ?
Could anyone give me some information about those asic buffer control or
rule!?

Any help regarding this will be highly appreciated.
