I stumbled across the following code (in the regex library by Kenneth Parker) and would, out of curiosity, like to know what people think of it: (defun make-anchored-matcher (matchfn) #'(lambda (*str* *regs* *start* *end* *start-is-anchor* *end-is-anchor* *acceptfn* *hooks*) (declare (special *str* *regs* *start* *end* *start-is-anchor* *end-is-anchor* *acceptfn* *hooks*)) (declare (ftype (function (fixnum) t) matchfn)) (catch 'cease-matching (f...

Is there a way to implement MATLAB's sound function under C? For those who don't use MATLAB, it's essentially a simplistic, static, mono sound function that converts a series a numbers into a sound at a given sampling rate. nothing fancy. all the Sound APIs begin by discussing all the fancy drivers and buffers and crazy shit i don't really care about. The LV was a tool, matlab script, you can write your code Matlab here. see the examples of LV.I think the lV 6.1 have. Dll it's very complicated :D I would like to use LabVIEW !without MatLab. I have some *data* structure S that I save in matfile save xxx.mat -struct s With V 2014B I get the warning message Warning: Figure is saved in D:\Documents\MATLAB\XXX.mat. Great link/resource! Thanks, Scott. Hi guys, I am very new to matlab, so any help at all would be very much appreciated. I am attempting to plot the streamlines for a streamfunction with contour lines: C (=constant) = y/3 - 3y/ [(x- 3/2)^2 + y^2] Would anybody be able to help me with this? Hi, I use the MATLAB engine to control MATLAB from a custom C program. Everything works fine, I can open the engine and send commands via engEvalString(). However, I would like to how to retrieve the error message from MATLAB if the sent command caused an error. I managed to obtain the output of valid commands through engOutputBuffer(), but it appears that error messages are _not_ placed in the output buffer. But surely it must be somehow possible to come by them? Hi John, How about using engEvalString() to execute the lasterror MATLAB function? That's all I can see. I used the COM ser...

Instead on representing the data as one line per observation, SAS has a way of identifying the frequency count of each unique possible combination (of independent regressors to go in model statement). So instead of 2000 lines of data, there could be 4 lines of data with a frequency count of each specified with syntax something like. /n=r; What is this feature called ? I am searching with repeated duplicate frequency but not finding useful examples for use in Proc Logistic. SS. Am somewhat of a Matlab noob and I have some general questions, maybe someone could comment: - Can I write a Java app that could take as input the following: - Data from an external source (say a database) that represents Matlab variables (like matrices) - A string that represents a Matlab expression that is a function of these variables And then produce the output of the expression, in the form of a matrix or a scalar. In other words, is it possible to parse a string that represents a Matlab expression and execute the expression in the Matlab environment from Java? ...

I am programming some MIDI to Music Notation software, and since there isn't a whole lot of information on the subject, I wondered if anyone had any experience or tips to share on how to go about doing it. Are there any books out on the subject? And specifically, how does one go about using a music font for portraying MIDI in a musical score? Thanks. Hi, I'm using Python in my win32 app by linking to the python23.dll. I'm trying to expose some c++ code in my app to Python so I can make application calls from Python scripts (according to the Python windows FAQ I shouldn't have to make a seperate dll, see link below). I create a MyModule.i file for swig which contains a simple test c++ class. I run swig on it with the following options: swig -python -c++ -includeall -shadow MyModule.i, and as expected it creates a MyModule.py and MyModule_wrap.cxx. When I can compile the .cxx wrapper file into my app, my app now exports init_...

I have a singleton object that works perfectly from inside my main .py file. However, when I want to access the object that backs the singleton from another file ( either from an execfile() or thru my telnet listener ), it appears the underlying object is reset to null, resulting in a duplicate object being created. I figure I am doing something painfully stupid, but for the life of me, I can't see it. Here is my singleton wrapper: class SingletonWrapper: __instance = None def __init__ ( self, user = None, password = None ): if SingletonWrapper.__ins...

Hi all, I'm going to work on a project involving a parallel version of MATLAB - I'm aware of various efforts like MATLAB-*P and so on Right now I need to read up on some material regarding MATLAB internals eg: How are the ATLAS(or is it BLAS) routines called in MATLAB? How does MATLAB's C code store information in memory, cache'ing etc? How is one to get at those? Do you know of any suitable reference(s)/resource(s)? Thank you very much, Aravind ...
