TDM with PCM question

```The information in four analog signals is to be multiplexed and transmitted
over a telephone channel that has a 400- to 3100-Hz passband. Each of the
analog baseband signals is bandlimited to 500 Hz. Design a communication
system (block diagram) that will allow the transmission of these four
sources over the telephone channel using
a) TDM using PCM (assume 4-bit samples).
Am I right in assuming this. Each pulse has a width of 1/2nW. Tranmission
rate is 2nW/second where W is the bandwidth and n is bits/sample
2*4*500/sec = 4kbps/sec
Therefore this scheme will work only if the line can support a data rate of
16 kbps in a bandwidth of 2700 Hz.
Probably not. Explain the reasoning that led you to this assumption.
(Why 4 bits? Is that assumed in the homework problem?)
Question
I don't have much experince in using any web based framework. I have a few questions. I understand that ruby on rails is an open source web application framework written in Ruby that closely follows the Model-View-Controller (MVC) architecture. Could someone explain the MVC architecture in simple terms? To use the rails framework, does one need to have knowledge of the ruby programming language? Does it support javascript? If one is to compare this with coldfusion, which is the better choice for creating database driven websites and why? Which one is better? _________________________
Is Flowerpot and Cliff on the same team? That Flowerpot dewd is a riot. dlevy wrote: > Is Flowerpot and Cliff on the same team? > > That Flowerpot dewd is a riot. > > Team? I don't need no stinking team. Really, didn't your mother ever tell you "don't feed the trolls"? You shouldn't say anything at all much less something positive. I might construe that as a reason for being and keep at it. No, cliff and I are not on the same team. We both insult JB at will, but then who doesn't? It's all in good clean fun, I mean no one takes th
Do you know of anything that I could get Jeri for her Birthday? I need to know ASAP! Mother would like to know of something too! Well, if you don't like Jeri, you should buy her Paint Shop Pro 8 or 9. However, if you like her, a better alternative would be Adobe Photoshop Elements! :-) Uni > > William > > Of couse, you could also buy her Uni's book of wit and wisdom. Small but bea
I posted a question title "read file" but for some reason, i can't see the post here. does anyone know why? thanks so much If you are new to this list maybe you didn't send a SET SAS-L REPRO message to LISTSERV@LISTSERV.UGA.EDU. By default you do not see your messages until you send this command. Compiler Question
a function and have two programs > (a C++ program and its own C++compiler) running simultaneously? > > Can anyone explain, with certainty, if and how a program could do > that? A similar question is: can a program remove itself while running? Here is an example program which tries to do that. In fact, it tries to do it twice. #include <errno.h> #include <stdio.h> int main(int argc, char **argv) { if (remove(argv[0]) != 0) perror(""); printf("Still running.\n"); if (unlink(argv[0]) != 0) perror(""... with one more question: Since it seems that it is possible to have a program run its own compiler, it it possible to have a program (well call it Program A) modify its source txt file, compile its own code (with a small change), run the compiled code (call it program B), and have program B terminate program A, and reiterate? The idea was to create a program that after running, has a longer source code then when it started. Any help again is greatly appreciated, Thanks Guys, -RJ -- [ See http://www.gotw.ca/resources/clcm.htm for info about ] [ comp.lang.c++.moderated. First
**NEWBIE
I am new to Python and am trying to use the Python-2.3.2-1Interperter on Windows. I have a .py file and I am trying to compile it into a .pyc file. When I began experimenting with Python, I could have sworn that opening the ..py file in IDLE, modifying it, and then saving it would automatically create the corresponding .pyc file. But this is not working. I have checked the FAQ's and the Python Help pages, but I believe I am somewhat dense. If I try to call 'compileall file.py', the syntax is invalid. If I try to call 'compile file.py' I also receive a syntax error. I know
Date Question
Ok My my is officially fried, How do i convert a Unix Timestamp to filemaker 1115915117 to FM I looked into Google and I saw : "Convert a Date/Time to a Unix timestamp (based on seconds since standard epoch of 1/1/1970)" Then you just have to convert, knowing that FileMaker counts internally dates as a number of days (since when ?) and time as a number of seconds. For '1115915117' it gives 'Thu, 12 May 2005 16:25:17 UTC'. Today in FMP is 05/29/2005 and 732095 (days). You may also remember that a day has 86400 seconds. Remi-Noel "EagleSA" <
