Saving Vic20 TAP images to tape

  • Follow

I posted a message earlier about saving TAP images to tape in order to load
them into a real VIC20, I found a copy of tap2wav but it creates a wav file
with a duration of 80-90 minutes in length which cant be correct, can it?

I also found a winamp plugin that can play tap files, these are around 30-35
minutes length, which again seems too long.

What am I doing wrong?

Thanks

Are you sure those programs are for Commodore (C64, Vic20...) TAP files?
They may be for Spectrum TAP files.

Try one of these:
http://www.worldofspectrum.org/tomcat/C64Tape.html (look for 64TapVoc)
http://digilander.libero.it/tcengineer/c64/index.htm (look for TapWAV 2.5)
http://wav-prg.sourceforge.net/audiotap.html

Or follow Anders' advice, and use ptap. You will need to build a special
cable for it, though.
