Help with Ming(for ISO10646) and Ming(for ISO10646)ExtB
We have this problem with an application which has no Font Linking. We
must be able to display characters from both Ming(for ISO10646) and
Ming(for ISO10646)ExtB fonts. Does anyone know of a solution to this
problem? Is there a single font which has all characters from the two
fonts?
We have already tried Simsun (Founder Extended) but it wasn't able to
display some characters from Ming(for ISO10646)ExtB.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You mean you didn't actually try it yourself so that you could say
whether it is sufficient or not?

Not legally. Arial Unicode MS (that's the correct name) is a copyrighted
product of Microsoft Corporation, available along with some software such as
Microsoft Office.

If you are looking for TrueType fonts for Microsoft Windows, there was one
with full CJK coverage (including extension B) that Microsoft used to
provide for free on its website, but it's no longer available. Copies of it
might still be floating around on the Net. The name of the installation
package is 'PMingLiU Update Pack.msi', if that helps.

Not legally, though. It is a copyrighted product.

Not to mention it most certainly does not meet the needs of the OP. Unicode
encodes well over *70000* Han characters, which are what he was after.

I thought this fonts was free, wasn't it.
I know this font is copyrighted and there are legal restritions, but is it
not for everyone to use?

We have the Office 2000 CD and I installed it to try the Arial Unicode
Font. Unfortunately it was still missing a number of characters.
I am now trying to find the PmingLiu Update Pack. (hoping that it will
be able to solve our problem... )

I tried the PMingLiu Update Pack but it can only display characters
from Plane2.
Thanks you guys for all the help.
I'll open another topic for another approach besides a merged font.
(Making Font Linking work for a specific application.) Maybe you can
also help me with that.
