Hi guys,

Mac user - reading issues with glasses ;)

I was testing out fonts on my Mac for using in my browser when I found
that Letter Gothic was helping me read more clearly - so I want to try
it for a week.

Got it to work fine in browsers that allow it. No problems ...

Except where a bold font is specified, as in for example forums where an
unread thread is indicated.  The bold wont show up.

In Fontbook under Letter Gothic Std it does list Medium, Slanted, Bold,
Bold Slanted.

Any way to fix this ?

"Slanted" is not italic. There is no italic font, the regular font
is slanted when you select "italic".

This is misleading. The term should be "Bolded". There is no bold
font, the regular font is bolded when you select "bold".

I don't know whose Letter Gothic fonts Howard has (or which ones, if 
any, are included with MacOS or FontBook), but Adobe, Bitstream, 
Monotype, and others have all produced Letter Gothic families that 
include Bold, Italic, and Bold Italic variants. As you say, the "italic" 
variants are actually oblique, or slanted.

The Adobe family names are LetterGothicStd, LetterGothicStd-Bold, 
LetterGothicStd-BoldSlanted, and LetterGothicStd-Slanted.
