Is there any way of getting this font for free on the net.

I can't believe it's so expensive when it is widely used in schools.

Many software companies have so called 'academic licensing' which allows schools, students and teachers to buy products at considerably cheaper price. The license, however, do not allow commercial use.

Good typefaces and fonts are expensive partly because they are difficult to make and require a lot of professional skill. I know there are many cheaper fonts but usually they are either pirated or the quality match the price.

i would suggest trying your requests at: alt.binaries.fonts - a much kinder 
group to request fonts from :)
