corrected verision of general polygon clipper gpc
This is a version in c of gpc based polygon clipper.It has NO tail recursion,does NOT show NULL pointer references and is substantially faster. It is plug compatible to gpc. The only major change is proper bundle handling while rendering intersections. A offset of the changes allows the restriction of a boolean op to a region between two horizontal lines. The author has NO claims to/on the implementation . The original code has been reengineered so it is easy to transliterate it even to a language not supporting recursion. ...

learning graphics in C/C++
After I had finished my console programming course in C, I wanted to learn to program graphics and using the mouse. I tried it with Visual C++ 6 in 21 days(under Windows), but that course just seemed to explain me how to you use a program which can "program for me". But I'm no friend of click&play-programming, so I remembered that I don't know a program which can "program for me" under UNIX. I hope that there really is no program which can do such stuff, so, if I want to learn programming under UNIX, I have to program everything line by line. So my actual...

Fill Polygon code ConcaveScan.c Bugs?
I am using the famous ConcaveScan.c from GraphicsGems. I changed the code so it is in the C++ style(see bellow). Here is how I called it: m_Point[0].x = 14; m_Point[0].y = 21; m_Point[1].x = 92; m_Point[1].y = 126; m_Point[2].x = 97; m_Point[2].y = 40; m_nCount = 3; Window window; window.x0 = 0; window.y0 = 0; window.x1 = 1000; window.y1 = 1000; concave(m_nCount, m_Point, &window, DrawLine); But the result is not right. Even the vertices plotted by the callback function are not right. I am pretty sure that my call backfunction is right. Does the ConcaveScan has ...

"General Polygon Clipper library" wrapper with the help of Ffidl
I'm currently working on a program, that requires polygon clipping. i've found a lib that seems to do it's job quiet well. It can be found here: http://www.cs.man.ac.uk/~toby/alan/software/ I compiled the dll under windows with the help of MingW. I asked myself how to load that dll and use the functions. The wiki suggested ffidl. However it's doesn't seem to be that easy to use. Functions and typedefs that need to be defined can be found in the gpc.h. http://pastebin.com/JQTWLULh I first tried to define the custom typedefs... ::ffidl::typedef gpc_vertex ...

2D graphics with C++ (graphics newbie)
I'm trying to make a card game in C++ with animation so simple as dealing cards to a hand, placing cards on a table, a bit of scaling and thats about it (maybe some 2d characters running across the screen). I'm looking for the most painless way to do this, while still making it look good ie no flickering etc. Any advice into libraries to use or techniques. Would maybe embedding Flash be most efficient? What about things such as the Java 2d API or would i have to go as complex as OpenGL? Thanks in advance for any help. (maybe it is a little OT?) Flash would be simple, but if you wa...

c and c generals horrible AI
anybody else have this problem? I've installed and patched generals and it has the worst unit AI I've seen since Warcraft I. Units stand there like dummies while someone right next to them is attacked. I've had a flame tank just sit like a rock while a rocket infantry on flat ground just kept sniping at it just out of range. The worst part is when I'm trying to attack. Pathfinding is horrendous and the units end up moving like molasses single file getting picked off one by one.They rarely counterattack unless you explictly make them. It doesn't help that often there...
