contour blocked by image

I met a problem and need your help to figure it out.

When I run an application by using a software which invokes
X-window/openGL,
an image blocks my contour lines on my Solaris 2.8. The image was
expected to be at a background. But now it is at the foreground. On
Dec/OSF, however, the same application works fine. And on one of our
lower version of solaris (2.6) installation, it works fine, too. Any
clue?

Thank!
Theodore

resize image on client side
Hi all, I've a classic upload form where people may select images on their computer to send on my website. Since this is done by people not very confortable with computers, some sent pictures are very huge (3MB) and I do resize them anyway since I only allow 500px wide pictures. Instead of letting people upload the 3MB file then resize it on the server, isn't there any possibility to "reduce" the file resolution on the client's machine then upload on the server the reduced picture using javascript or any other method ? I'm trying to understand how 'convert' from ImageMagick encodes RGB and CMYK images - and consequently how a LaTeX file that incorporates such an image and is then translated into a PDF will end up... I'm wanting to end up with a CMYK PDF I can send to a commercial printer for printing. I understand I need to convert images to CMYK PostScript before inclusion, and that latex/dvips/ps2pdf or whatever toolchain should keep the final image CMYK. So far, so good. However, when I looked at what: convert file.jpg -colorspace CMYK file.ps produces, I don't understand how a su...

fgets not blocking
Say you open a socket connection with fsockopen. Normally, subsequent calls to fgets are going to block until input is ready. Unless, of course, socket_set_blocking is used to disable blocking (which I'm not doing). Unfortunately, this does not seem to always be the case. I still, on occasion, get empty strings from fgets. Since feof returns false, there's still input left. Yet fgets isn't giving it to me, as it should be. Now, I am aware that fgets stops when a new line character is encountered, but that new line character is supposed to, never-the-less, be included in the ...

spamd and whitelisting blocks of IPs
I'm wondering if there's a way to have spamd automatically whitelist *blocks* of addresses? Why: various large email providers (gmail comes to mind) will resend the (greylisted) email on different outgoing SMTP servers. Since I don't get enough email to populate all the outgoing SMTP servers as whitelist entries, it's a pain. Also, I don't want to be micromanaging the email server to see which IP addresses are getting through and which ones aren't and manually adding them to the whitelist. How: I'd propose a flag on the command line, that gives the C...

Vectors from Binary Image

I'm using edge to find these but not all the different regions that are in the image are having their edges fully detected. My second question: How do I extract the vectors from a binary image? Thanks! L On May 11, 5:49=A0pm, "Liren Bijjee" &l...
