for crying out loud! don't you have the fucking docs? I mean it comes in
html you can view it online, or whatever.... did it occur to you to try
and ... *gasp* ... "FIND" the answer by looking for it at the most
obvious place (glut docs) before posting here? It's a god damn library
call for crists sake!

Building OpenGL/GLUT applications question
Hi all, I have a question on library linking before and after installation of NVIDIA Hardware accelerated driver. My system runs on Redhat 9 and I install the newest NVIDIA hardware accelerated driver downloaded from NVIDIA site for my ASUS V9520 VS graphics card. Before the NVIDIA driver installation, I build my OpenGL/GLUT programs with command: gcc -o myprogram myprogram.c -lglut -lGL and it works. However, after driver installation, I get a lot of Xlib related undefined symbols error in linking with same build command and same source code. I need the following command to...

Why does OS X hide the mouse cursor on keypresses?
I'm new to Macland, and am enjoying my powerbook very much (as a Windows and Java programmer, and old Unix hand). Here's my little question: When I scroll in a Firefox or Safari window *using the arrow keys*, OS X hides the mouse cursor. (This happens on any keypress in TextEdit too.) Then I have to move the mouse a little bit to force the system to display the cursor, even though sometimes I just want to click the mouse (without moving it). Is there any way to force the OS to keep displaying the mouse cursor? Thanks, Mark markbuxbaum@hotmail.com wrote: > When I scroll in a F...

Using directly graphical output from an OpenGL application...
I am currently working at my diploma, and to make a long story short: I would like to know if it is possible to use the "graphical output" from an application (www.jake2.de) written (partially) in LWJGL directly in MatLab. (LWJGL is The Lightweight Java Game Library (LWJGL) (http://www.lwjgl.org/index.php)). To visualize my needs: Imagine, that the game-screen which is normally seen by the user (the graphical output) is directly mapped to MatLab to work on this data (image processing, a.s.o.). If it wouldn't be a performance problem I could do every tenth of a second a screensho...

Hide Mouse Cursor on TPC-2006 Windows CE
Hello all, I have a VI that is deployed on NI's TPC-2006 touch panel, running Windows CE 4.2 and was wondering if there is a way to hide the mouse cursor from the screen? When running a touch screen VI on the touch panel, it looks pretty tacky to have the mouse pointer show up when clicking buttons or tabs. I have done quite a bit of searching, but have yet to find a way to do it, in or out of Labview. Any ideas / suggestions? Thanks for any responses.- Adam I haven't done this on CE, but on windows (inc. Emb.) and Linux, the Cursor menu in Application Control the Create Cursor From File can be used. I've used it to load a transparent icon file. On XPEmbedded this resulted in graphical glitches, so I had to put one 1% visible pixel in the file. Hope it helps, Wiebe. Hi Headtrip, Have a look at the forum <a href="http://forums.ni.com/ni/board/message?board.id=170&amp;message.id=166514&amp;requireLogin=False" target="_blank">disable mouse cursor on frontpanel</a>. It talks about calling a ShowCursor windows API function. Hopefully this helps!! &nbsp; &nbsp; ...

KDE doesn't hide mouse cursor when typing
I found this to be very odd. It seems that KDE doesn't automatically hide the mouse cursor when the user is typing. I've noticed this a while ago but I always thought that it was due to some problem with my KDE configuration. Today, after I've decided to finally take the bull by the horns and search for the place where I could configure it, I found this: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=88345 It seems that KDE doesn't support it at all. If you want to change the mouse theme systemwide, you will need to create a file named index.theme --- index.theme --- [Icon Theme] Inherits=pCircle --- eof --- The path to the location may differ between distros, so the best is to look up in the distros documentation over Xorg. cursor application?
Hi all, This is not an urgent query merely an interested question. But for what would I use a Cursor for? I have looked at the on-line help but I am still unclear why it for what reason it might be employed? Many thanks Sam Two reasons would be when you need to do something for each row in a result set (usually execute a stored procedure), or when you must process rows in a specific order. The first case is probably most common in DBA/admin scripts, for example to write a script which GRANTs execute permission on all stored procs in a database. I can't think of a good example of the second case offhand. You might want to check out this book, which has a chapter on using cursors: http://www.sql.co.il/books/advtsql/Advanced%20T-SQL%20for%20SQL%20Server%202000.htm But notice the chapter title ("Server-Side Cursors -- the SQL of Last Resort") - using cursors in application code (as opposed to DBA/management code) is rather unusual, and generally not at all desirable. Simon Cursors are a bad idea to use as they hold locks on tables for their duration. They are also not necessary as you can use set rowcount 1 to loop through records individually.
