How to underlay blury text?

  • Follow

Hi there,
I want make my text standing out from the background and want to have a
blury border (different color) surround the text.
What I've tried... I copied the text layer and applied Gaussian blur on
the lower layer. It was ok, but not exactly what I want. I want more
borders. How can I make the text line thicker before applying blur,
like bold text, but much more?

Thanks
Phuoc

1. Make your text
2. In the layers window, text to selection
3. Duplicate the layer
4. on one of the layers, Select->grow
5. Fill selectiopn with new colour
6. Blur that layer
7. Lower the layer to below the original layer

Create two text layers of different sizes with the same
lettering, one over the other.

Use the selection wand to select the smaller text and then
change the active layer to the larger text and click "cut".

The inner part of the larger text is then cut.

Make the larger text whatever colour you want, and it will be
a perfect outline to the inner layer.

As long as you make it the right size, that instantly gives
you an "outer glow".

Then just blur it however you like.
