Is it possible to do this.
Using character map I get the copyright symbol. The paste works OK in 
wordpad.

Select a font that contains the symbol you're looking for. The Symbol 
font is probably installed on your computer. Just switch to that font in 
Pagemaker and type a w or W, depending on which omega you want.
