I'm running an ancient version (6.02) and was wondering if there's a way
to have the default, when printing, to be Landscape, rather than
Portrait. 90+ percent of what I print is L and it's a pain to switch (or
worse, forget to switch) from P to L for every time I start PSPro
Thanks!

Any settings you make to your printer-driver there are applied globally to
all applications as the defaults when selecting that printer.
A *few* applications will retain the last used settings whenever the
printer driver is called from within the program itself, but this is rare.
If you want more than one set of defaults, duplicate your printer driver
(usually done by manually installing the drivers again, as many times as
you want), naming it to something descriptive of your desired options
during or after installation, and set its defaults to another set of
settings.
Renamed driver examples:
HP Deskjet 1220c Landscape
HP Deskjet 1220c Portrait
HP Deskjet 1220c High Quality Photo
etc.
