Let's all write Jasc and tell them to hire him back, whoever it was,
before it's too late!

Sheesh, there goes my "child's brain" again"!!!

My new boss told me, "Bonehead, you're a half-wit!!!" Then he corrected
himself and said, "No Uni, that would be a compliment for you. You're not
even a half wit! Go crush more cans Bonehead". He knows I like crushing
cans! I'm happy when I get to crush cans.

Makes sense. The bitter, emotionally disturbed ex-employee seeking
revenge because he was fired for being inept.

It doesn't pay to be ignorant. Kris Zaklika never was and
never will be "Paint Shop Pro project manager" at Jasc.
Since PSP 7, the closest to a the sort of project manager
you might have in mind were first John Krenz and then
Harold Fagley. Prior to that I wasn't at the company so I
don't know who ran PSP.

Kris, remember when you said you don't care what I say about PSP, in
usenet, because it would have no affect on sales?

Seems Supernews felt different, when I uncovered a few odd things with
their service, you can find here:
http://www.angelfire.com/empire/abpsp/uni_stuff/uni-page.html
What did they do? They terminated my account, because I told it like it is.

Not very professional, but immature.

Indeed they do - it says, clear as day "Program Manager". Nothing
about project manager.

PSP is the "program" AKA Project AKA Application, etc., Jackie, and Kris
is responsible for it, since he managed it, start to finish. Kris even
admitted he came onboard after PSP-6. Maybe I'll install it to find out
who was the Project Manager back then.

There is a Bonnie Hoolenhorst listed as a "Product Manager", but as we
both know, a Product Manager doesn't get involved with the "Program".
No other Project, Program or Product mangers listed, other than a
"Release Manager".

Nonsense. Kris was never the Project Manager for 7, nor 8, nor is he
for 9. No wonder you're so confused - you never did know what he does
(or doesn't do) for Jasc.

Nor, for that matter, are you even sure of what you are asking.
Quickly - what are the terms of reference for a Project Manager, a
Program Manager and a Release Manager? Don't bother asking - it's a
trick question - the definition depends on the circumstances, and
varies widely from company to company. Just because you think you know
what each should do (according to you), doesn't mean that other people
- or companies - are using the same definitions.

Did you really think Kris was the guiding force behind the complete
development of PSP 7 or 8? You obviously haven't followed his postings
well enough or really can't read for comprehension. I suspect the
latter, based on the balance of evidence.

I don't "think", I know he is. Kris is solely responsible for PSP. This
is why you see him and him only posting for Jasc.

Notice how Kris dropped his long Jasc signature, when MAJOR problems
occurred with Paint Shop Pro 8? Certainly, I would, too, if I didn't
wish to be recognized as being instrumental in managing the
Program/Application.

One last thing, Jackie, I have caught Kris lying through his teeth more
than once. Remember when I asked if Gary Barton worked for Jasc and Kris
denied it? But then some person calls Jasc support and magically a Gary
B. answers the call.

Granted, it may be a coincidence, but with Gary Barton pumping out the
PSP scripts, I think not.

*Laugh* You truly are delusional.... on top of your inability to read

Just makes your inane posturing all this time just that much more

I know Gary Barton, and I know Jasc. Kris is not solely responsible

No, no - don't go talking sense now. I prefer you in fully neurotic

I've written scripts and presets (some even shipped with 8) - I
suppose I work for Jasc now? And Angela, too - oh, and don't forget
Suz, she writes a pile of scripts.

Darnitall, I don't write too many scripts, but some of my stuff shipped with
8 too. Oh, do I work for Jasc now too? Funny, I didn't see you in the

Oh, you have an inside connection? Right, Jackie.

I love you patriotic Jasc/PSPers (you, Sally, Ron, JPK, Xalinai, etc.)
followers who purchase Photoshop CS. But, hey, why not. At least Adobe
can write their own scripting language, rather than borrow one found on

"Inside connection" - oooh, how conspiratorial.

Sorry to disappoint, but I live within a day's drive of Minneapolis.
I've visited Jasc, emailed with many of the people I met there, and
quite enjoyed the visit.

I know several others who have done the same thing - it's not like
Jasc has anything to hide; I'd advise anyone who is planning a trip to
the area to email and see if they can get the quarter tour. (Of
course, not everyone gets to see the super sekrit underground bunker

Not just CS (btw, I own the whole suite, not just Photoshop), but
CorelDraw Suite, all the Serif products, Painter 8, PhotoImpact...
graphics is a hobby of mine, and - being gainfully employed - I can
afford to indulge it. I still use PSP for 90% of my stuff, though -
even with all the choices at my disposal. Of course, that rather
disproves the point you thought you were making, so feel free to
ignore it as you do most other rational points. ;-)

>*chuckles*

Not half, Uni. Actually, I have to thank you. I'm dealing with a real
wingnut in a work situation, and I think I needed the reminder that
things could be worse. Yup, he's a jerk of the first water, but
doesn't hold a candle to you.

Okay Jackie, you have an edge on me. You're gainfully employed, and I'm
not! Well, I'm just about half-employed, if you can call it that. I got
a job recently crushing cans for 3 hours a day. This way, I stay out of
mom's hair; she's 82 years old by the way.

You want some more *chuckles* or perhaps tears, look what I do with my
2-bit editing: http://tinyurl.com/4t7a6 - You'll notice lots and lots of
my "uni" posts. You'll notice that I'm not patriotic, although quite
pathetic.

Meow...

Me, too - but I think they're hiding in the super-sekrit bunker with
the Covert Operations guys. You know, the ones who maintain the
Uni-files and run Supernews in their spare time. ;-) (Dang, there's
nothing like a good conspiracy theory!)

So nice of you, Jackie, to lend a hand answering all the PSP questions
here. What, there aren't any? After PSP-8, can't you understand why?

:-)

Kris tries hard, but he should have stuck with chemistry.

Sure - http://forums.jasc.com/.

Same here, except I also have a Macromedia suite and some other less
mainstream things--

You know, software is just a tool, not a religion or a marriage.
You don't commit heresy or adultery if you use more than one vendor's
products.

Funny you have to subscribe to Jasc forums, while Adobe's are free to
view. Guess they don't need your e-mail address that badly.

Haven't dabbled in the Macromedia stuff yet, but I forgot a perennial
favourite, Xara X1.

I'm one of the few people I know who has more invested in software
than hardware. ;-)

For me, it's both more and less than a tool. I work mostly in a very
different area, so graphics is a pleasure and a distraction. It's
grown-up "play" in my life, so I like having novelty. I also like
learning new things, stretching the brain cells, and realizing just
how left-brained I am in the normal course of things. <g>

There are worse indulgences, and I don't have a closet full of shoes
to justify, so I refuse to feel guilty about it. I guess I'm just
normally pangraphical at heart. (I was going to use "poly-graphical",
but that has a whole 'nother connotation.)

I'll see your Adobe, Corel and Macromedia and Xara X and raise you Digital
Image Pro, now THERE's a real hearty dish. And of course PhotoDraw v.1 and
v.2, if you've got the kid it helps to have the parents, too. ;-)))))).

Me me me me... well, I'm interested in hardware as long as it works the way
I want it to work, consistently.

It doesn't pay to be ignorant. Repeating a falsehood multiple
times doesn't make it true. There is no obligation by anyone
from any software company to post to a Usenet group. Next
you'll be telling me that Chris Cox manages PS development
because he posts to Usenet occasionally, and Mark Pawliger,
Russell Williams, Andrew Coven and company aren't management
because they don't post.

Hmm, the e-mail seems to say kzaklika@jasc.com and anyway
I don't have any major problems with PSP 9 or 8 or 7 or 6
or 5. (I don't have any earlier versions on this computer.)
If you think there are major problems you should draw those
to the attention of product management, i.e. someone other
than me.

Hmmmm, some of my stuff shipped with PSP8 too. May-be we all need to take a

I have no idea what Mr. Cox does, although I know his web site:

I have version 1.12 and I'll post it, if you wish. It, of course, is
shareware. It states, I'm allowed to distribute it, as long as all (3)
three files are intact.

Kris, as I stated before, version 8 received the worst feedback and
complaints of any Paint Shop Pro version. Not only in this group, but on
the internet, as well. You know it as well as I do. That's why PSP-9 was
expedited.

Once Fugitive says version 9 is decent, I may give it a try. Besides, I
have to review the credits.

Best regards,
