How do draw stylized letter?

  • Follow

Using PSP 7-Anniversary edition., I want to draw a large stylized "S",
in a specific shape, perspective etc. Also want to fill it in with a
particular color. Is there any way to do it other than with the
freehand function set on bezier curve? I need the S to have distinct
edges, so spray can won't do it and also need more precision than
using a mouse will provide.

I notice that even cheesy Windows draw has a curve function that
allows you to see the exact ahape of the curve as you do it, but the
bezier curve function on PSP does this weird thing that leaves you
guessing what the shape of the line will ultimately be.

Thanks!

Hi Doc,
You can type a "S" , use a largesized font that comes close to what you have
in mind and create as vector text. Next, convert the text to curves and you
can use all of the vector tools (along with Stroke/Fill) to edit your shape.
In Node Edit, click on one (or more) nodes and you will see the bezier
curve. Right-clicking gives you a lot of more options. In Vector Edit mode,
use Shift and/or CTRL to add perspective to your shape.
http://www.psplinks.com/content/Vector.html I'm sure you can find some
tutorials here, explaining in detail what i am talking about.
Good luck!

How about drawing an outline on paper and scanning it in? Then fill in the
colors.
