How to put tubes in the tube palette?
I am new to PSP (using 7) and this board! I am a total novice.
However, someone sent me some tubes to use. I put them in the file marked
"Tubes" under PSP in Jasc software. Well, they don't come up to be used! I go
to the tool palette, and that little gray thing to the right with the wrench
comes up.... I go to picture tubes... it isn't there.
So how do you get the tubes into the tuber to use?
;-O
Thanks.

Delete the tube cache file, probably in "C:\Program Files\Jasc Software Inc\Paint Shop Pro 7\Cache", it will rebuild
itself the first time you select a tube.

This isn't a web board. It's a Usenet newsgroup.

Over time, the PSP tube file format has evolved. If you
have received a tube from a very old version of PSP (e.g.
PSP 5) it has to be converted to a more recent format
using the tubeconverter program that came with PSP 7. If
you received a tube created in PSP 9, it won't work in
PSP 7.

It says Tool Options - Picture Tube right along the top
doesn't it. Why not just use the right name when talking
about it?

You mean you open the droplist with the images of the tubes
and you can't find the new tubes you added, right? In addition
to the potential issues I mentioned above, here are a couple
of other things to look into. First, switch to some other
tool than the Picture Tube tool, e.g. the Paintbrush, and use
it on an image. You can immediately undo what you did. Now
switch back to the Picture Tube tool. This act of switching
back will force the Picture Tube cache to rebuild and include
any recently added valid tube files. In the event this does
not solve the problem, close PSP, delete the Tubes.jpc file
in the Cache subfolder of the folder where you installed
PSP and restart PSP. Now look for new tubes in the Tool
Options dialog.

Be careful how you name things to avoid future confusion.
Most people use the word "tubing" to mean the act of creating
a tube. A "tuber" is one who makes tubes, rather than the
Picture Tube tool, which puts them down on an image.
