Preset shapes
Is there any way to convert Photoshop preset shape (.csh) files to
something that I can use in Paint Shop Pro?

Draw the shape in PS. Save the file in EMF or WMF format (assuming
PS supports that). Open the file in PSP and do File > Export > Shape.

Thanks for the quick answer, Kris, but these are ready-made .csh files,
each one containing several dozen shapes. I've got a .gif file for each
..csh file, but Photoshop doesn't actually open the .csh files, just
loads them so you can access the shapes. I was hoping there might be
some way to actually convert them into a more generally usable format.

The representation of vector objects is proprietary and the
types of vector primitives representable in one program are
not necessarily representable in another. For instance, only
the most recently announced version of Photoshop (PS CS) can
cope with text on a path. Things like arrow heads or line caps
or stars or whatever may be represented quite differently in
PS and PSP. This lack of correspondence between vector
representations means PS can't read PSP vector objects and
PSP can read PS vector objects. The suggestion I gave you
uses a "lowest common denominator" representation of vectors.
You can read the object but, for instance, information about
vector primitives used by either program is lost.

Hi
I have gone about it via a little more long winded approach that those
mentioned in this thread. Generally via creating the shapes as fonts and use
the text in psp and export... Once the shapes are fonts, they can be used in
many other applications
