Save File Location Error - PSP 9.01
When I start PSP 9.01 (Vista), I get a message "the folder listed
below is used to save your files. It is not currently accessible". It
then gives me a bunch of detail and ends with "you must fix this with
file - Preferences - File Locations"
For the directory it is complaining about, it has an rather odd folder
listed that I don't think ever existed: C:\temp\am files\Jasc Software
Inc\Paint Shop Pro 9
I've gone in to File -> Pref's File Locations and made sure that all
references are to valid locations. FWIW, I have not seen the oddball
directory listed anywhere. I looked through the registry and I could
not find that folder mentioned. I also looked for some sort of *.ini
file in the Program Files/Jasc/PSP directory but I could not find
anything there.
Where do I go to fix this?
Thanks,

In a valid c:\temp directory. Changing that didn't help at all.

Go to File > Preferences > Reset Preferences, tick the second option -
"Reset file locations". I'd be inclined to choose the fourth and fifth
options as well - for ressetting dialog positions and deleting cache files.
Click OK then close PSP. Before restarting PSP, use the Windows disk cleanup
utility, especially the option to delete temporary files. Instructions are

Interesting change (before doing above). I changed the PSP temp
location to c:\temp as opposed to c:\users\... That did not fix it
right away, but as some point the error disappeared.
I know for sure that the directory it was pointing at previously
existed, because I browsed there to find it (more than once). I also
know that I have full rights to the directory as I took ownership of
the entire C: drive and granted myself full priv's right after I got
this fscking Vista based system with it's moronic gross security
schemes (MS idiotic scheme to improve security: "we'll just take away
the user's rights to change anything... that ought to stop security
problems!")
But I digress. Looks like I am all set. Thanks.
