I got a two-word reply on this posting a couple of weeks ago - device
central. I have the trial version of CS4 so, Device Central is there.
But I never used that app before and I can't figure out how it works or
what is its' main function. I would like to take a JPG photo(s) and
put them, as wallpaper, on my LG VX8300 cell phone (my new grandsons).
Can someone walk me through this please? I've looked at a few
tutorials and they haven't helped. Thanks.....

This is what I did for my Sony Ericsson W810i. I found out from the manual
what the screen resolution was, then made a new document to match. Then I
scanned the phone so that I could get an image of the screen (make sure it
is on, and not asleep or whatever) so you can see where all the icons are.
Match the scan image to the new document and put your sons image as a new
layer, making sure that the areas occupied by logos, battery icons dont
cover an eye or something important. Then, just via USB save the image (save
for web does OK) into a folder on the phone, assuming that you can hook it
up to a computer.
There may be some mucking around to get things exactly right but I've made
countless wallpapers for my SE phone, all taking into account space for
icons etc.
Simple.
Best wishes
Craig

If you have Verizon, you can e-mail the pictures to your phone after you
have adjusted them to your liking in whatever program you choose. I send JPG
images to my Verizon phone all the time for wallpaper. Go to www.vzwpix.com
to learn how.

The hell of it is, my Verizon phone came with a USB cable for
transferring music to it using Windows Media Player, as it also an mp3
player. Putting music on the thing and taking it off is very easy. But you
can't use the wire to transfer pictures, oh no! You have to use the stupid
email method.
