Homeseer voice: remote wireless microphone via USB ?

  • Follow

I want voice input for HomeSeer, but the PC is not close to where the
microphone(s) should be. The PC runs Windows XP.

Is there such a thing as a wireless microphone (probably RF, since I need to
be up to 50 ft away), with a USB-based receiver? Can more than one
microphone feed into the same input this way? Will HomeSeer work with such a
setup?

Thanks ...

You could use an X10 wireless video sender. Just don't use the video part.
Plug the audio out line from the receiver into the PC's audio mic or line-in
port. Since it'd be going into the PC as regular audio homeseer shouldn't have
a problem with it.

There are billions of wireless mics out there. Been made for 30+ years.
YOur issue might be batteries.

Or you can run (3 wire) microphone cable several hundred feet without an
issue.
