Outdoor temperature sensor for Carrier EMi Thermostat

  • Follow

I had my utility install a Carrier EMi Thermostat. But they don't give out
the outdoor temperature option. The have the temperature sensors in the
warehouse, but they haven't decided what to do with them. They are thinking
they might use them as an extra incentive. So that means later customers
may get them and I'll be left without. Now I can't imagine they would be
that hard to install. All I need to know is the part number and where I can
order a couple from. Then to what terminals in the control box to wire
them. Can anyone help here?

Since no one else has replied...

I don't know anything about the Carrier Thermostats, but it is possible
that it is made by Honeywell. I know that both my York (Hg) and my Trane
(electronic) branded thermostats, are really by Honeywell.

Honeywell has a LOT of documentation up on their website, though without
a very good search engine, it does take some doing to find exactly what
you are looking for in terms of manuals for the OEM branded items.

If your Carrier thermostat is by Honeywell, however, you should be able
find out particulars like external temperature probes, and how to connected
it up, in their manuals. The manual will also show how to enable it, after
it is installed. I know that is true for my Trane thermostat.

One possible place to start...
